The Eagles played some quality Kabaddi on a big occasion as they defeated the touring Puneri Paltan 35-24 at the Thyagaraj Stadium, registering their 6th win of the season.
The only change Chief Coach Krishan Kumar Hooda made to the playing 7 was in form of Meraj Sheykh who made a comeback into the playing 7 after being left out from the previous game.
Despite last night's loss to U Mumba, our boys were ready to go hard at Puneri Paltan. Right from the word go, they showed dabanggiri over the visitors, and went on to score 4 points without conceding even one.
The pair of Meraj and Naveen created havoc at the Paltans' defence and in a matter of just five minutes, the Eagles stretched their lead to 11-1.
The visitors did manage to put up a fight after first 10 minutes of the game. They fancied their chances before they faced Satpal Narwal, who came in to replace Rajesh Narwal with two minutes left before the first half. It was down to two Narwals, Satpal and Joginder, when the Eagles were facing an all out situation. But Satpal had other thoughts as he pulled off a brilliant Super Tackle and rescued Dabang Delhi before the first half.
There was no stopping Satpal Narwal in the second half either and the experienced Dabang yet again got the better of Parvesh with another Super Tackle, his second of the night.
The Iranian Dabang, Meraj Sheykh finished the match with 7 points to his name, and in the process also completed 50 raid points in the Vivo Prokabaddi season 6. Young Naveen Kumar too scored 7 raid points in his 12 attempts and was given the moment of the match award.
Our defence was solid as a total of 13 points were shared among the defenders in the entire match. Vishal Mane and Satpal Narwal were the joint-highest points scorer for the Eagles with 4 points a piece.
Ravinder Pahal finished the match with 3 points becoming only the second player in Pro Kabaddi history to reach 250 Tackle Points.
Our boys will play Telugu Titans next on Tuesday. With the amount of confidence and dabang support from the home crowd, Joginder Narwal and co. will look for another win and climb up the Zone A table to 3rd spot.
