Dabang Delhi ended their Haryana leg of the Vivo ProKabaddi Season 6 with a narrow defeat against Haryana Steelers 34-31 in Sonipat last night.
A strong defence at the crunch of the first-half gave Joginder Narwal and the squad a two point lead over the home side. It didn’t pan out well in the second-half as we fall short by 3 points at full-time.
At the back of a tie and a win, the Eagles had a dream start to the Vivo Prokabaddi Season 6. Haryana on the other hand, came to this match with two consecutive losses against Jaipur and Mumbai in their first two matches.
Both teams started-off well, the home team mostly dominated the first-half. But some exceptional work at the defence from the experienced duo of Ravinder Pahal and Rajesh Narwal kept us ahead at the end of the first 20 minutes.
Vikas Kandola’s super raid in the 28th minute turned things around for Haryana and enforced an all out, and the score was 23-20 for Haryana. With only eight minutes left in the game, he came back with another super raid and gave his team a comfortable six points lead.
Our star raider Chandran Ranjit earned the Eagles a much-needed two points in the 36th minute, but it was already too late for us.
Haryana registered their first win of the season. Captain Joginder Narwal and the team will take a lot of positives from the game. The combination of Ravinder Pahal and Joginder Narwal was outstanding at the defence and will be crucial as we will play Bengal Warriors on Sunday, 21st October.
