In the first match of the Inter Zone Challenge Week, Dabang Delhi K.C. defeated Bengal Warriors 39-30 in Pune’s Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex.
An all-round team effort from the Eagles helped them inflict not one but two All Outs in the match. The outstanding performer from the raiding department was young Naveen Kumar, who scored 11 points.
At the start of the first half both teams were neck-in-neck with 4-4 after the five minutes of the game. Poor review calls from the Warriors during Naveen's raid cost them dearly in 13th minute. They were left with one man, Tewthia who failed to do anything with the raid and the Warriors were all out for the first time in the match.
In the second half, the only highlight for the Warriors was Jang Kun Lee, who consistently kept the scorecard ticking for his team. On the other hand, some smart review calls by Joginder Narwal kept us ahead in the game.
Chandran Ranjit once again did what he does best. In the 23rd minute of the game, his fast reflexes pushed Vijin Thangadurai and Ran Singh out of the mat. But Chandran wasn’t satisfied with just two points as he went for more and came back with 6 points in total with a SUPER RAID and an ALL OUT to the Bengal Warriors.
The Eagles kept things compact at the defense too. The experience of Captain Joginder Narwal and Ravinder Pahal was clearly visible. Both scored 4 tackle points each and helped Dabang Delhi score 10 Tackle Points in their 4th consecutive match of the Vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 6.
Joginder Narwal led Dabang Delhi will now have a short break before they play UP Yoddha on October 28, in Patna. While our team is high on confidence, Rishank Devadiga-led UP side can bring a different challenge altogether.
