A disappointing second half saw Dabang Delhi lose to U Mumba 34-41 in their second home leg match at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex, New Delhi.
Inspired by a brilliant win against Jaipur Pink Panthers just the other night, Dabang Delhi K.C started off well and were ahead of U Mumba in the entire first half of the game with The Eagles inflicting two all-outs on the visitors. It was Naveen who led the Eagles raiding department and went on to score 9 raid points inside first 20 minutes.
Meraj Sheykh was on the bench due to an injury but the young raider took matters in his own hands. Yogesh Hooda was named in the starting, replacing the Iranian all-rounder.
The score was 22-13 at the end of the first half. But what happened in the second was out of imagination for all the Dabang fans present there at the venue or around the world. Siddharth Desai who went for only 4 raids in the opening half, ended the match with 19 raid points in just 16 raid attempts and finished the match with an impressive raid strike rate of 119.
U Mumba found loopholes in Dabang Delhi’s defence and picked up 28 points in total in the second half. They also kept Naveen Kumar out of the equation, as the raider only scored 3 points in the second half.
Chandran Ranjit will take a lot of positives from the game. The man from Tamil Nadu finished the match with 7 points and became the second player from Dabang Delhi to score 100 points in the Vivo Prokabaddi Season 6.
Joginder Narwal and his boys will face Puneri Paltan tomorrow. The team will seek nothing less than a victory over the visitors and will look to reduce the gap between 3rd and 4th position in the Zone A points table.
