Dabang Delhi K.C. settled for a tie in a tight match against Jaipur Pink Panthers, 37-37 in Match number 121 of the Vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 6 in Panchkula.
Chief Coach, Krishan Kumar Hooda made more changes from the team that played U Mumba in Vizag. Tapas Pal and Pawan Kadian were the new names from our previous match. The captaincy was handed to the Iranian Dabang Meraj Sheykh.
Some strong work at the defence gave our Dabangs a flying start in the first half. In no time the Eagles lead 5-0 against the home side inside four minutes. Jaipur sniffed their way back into the game and after 10 minutes score was 7-all, but were down with only two men. Chandran was in no mood to miss that opportunity and scored two raid points and added two more points (team points) to the Dabangs tally as we inflicted the first all out of the match.
The Eagles kept their noses ahead in most part of the first half. A late slump in the last four minutes closed our healthy lead as Meraj and his men ended the first half with just a one point lead at 18-17.
All the Dabang fans were on the edge of their seats as we were down to just two men at the start of the second half and were in a situation of facing an all out. Pawan Kadian wasn't giving up and went on to score a brilliant super raid and revive two of our players.
While we dominated most of the second half as well, once again it was a late slump in the last three minutes that took the game away from us and we had to settle for a tie.
Chandran Ranjit was at his vicious best. He finished the match as the highest scoring raider with a total of 11 raid points. Pawan Kadian too didn't fail to impress with his 9 raid points. Anil Kumar was our best defender with four tackle points including one super tackle to his name.
The Eagles are next going to play their wildcard match against Bengal Warriors in Kolkata on 23rd December. This will also be the final group stage game before our playoff journey gets underway.
