Two Losses in Pune, the focus shifts to the home for the Eagles

Dabang Delhi suffered back-to-back losses against U Mumba (39-23) followed by a 27-34 defeat to Haryana Steelers in an action-packed weekend. 

Riding high on confidence, especially after halting Gujarat Fortunegiants' winning run in Ahmedabad, the Eagles were back in Pune where they had beaten Bengal Warriors by 39-30 earlier this season. Table-toppers U Mumba were the first opponents in the double header. 

Our team did well to slow things down in the first 10 minutes of the game when the scoreboard read 6-5 in favour of U Mumba. Nothing worked as per the plan after that and by the end of 1st half we were trailing by 15-8.

It was an all-round performance from U Mumba on the night and that didn't allow Dabang Delhi to make any comeback in the second half. We eventually lost 39-23. The stand out performance from the Eagles was from Chandran Ranjit who scored 7 raid points. During the match, Ravinder Pahal too completed his 250 career points in PKL. 

The loss to U Mumba was a jolt to our campaign. But the Eagles were confident of pulling things back against Haryana Steelers.

It was yet another slow start for the Eagles. While our boys also didn't let the game get away from their hands, the score was stuck at 10-13 after the first 20 minutes of the game.

In the process, 18-year-old Naveen Kumar completed 100 points in PKL Season 6 and ended the match with another Super 10, his 5th of the season. Ravinder Pahal continued his fine form against the Steelers and secured another High 5 of the season.

The efforts from Pahal and Naveen weren't enough to send the Eagles home with a victory. At the same time, it was a complete team performance from Haryana Steelers that took the match away from us in the second half. 

Joginder Narwal and co. will now play the home leg in Delhi's Thyagaraj Sports Complex. The Eagles are in a good situation at the moment but can't afford to take a good start for granted. Currently at the fourth position in the table, the Eagles will aim to get into top 3 at the end of the home leg.

The team will look to close the gap to Puneri Paltan as they start the home leg against last placed Jaipur Pink Panthers on November 30, 2018. We have an upper hand over Jaipur and a better record over them in recent matches. So, more Dabanggiri will be on display when the Eagles will take the mat this Friday (November 30).
