Dabang fans are now used to nail-biting clashes as yesterday we saw yet another thriller, which went down to the wire. The match started on a shaky note for us as the Pirates inflicted an early all-out on us. We were trailing 0-12 till one point of time but after that, the defence came to the rescue as we made a solid comeback. Meraj Sheykh (8 points) looked dynamic in his raids as he bagged some vital points for us. He was well supported by his fellow countryman Abolfazl (4 points). Right before the interval, we got Patna all-out. Though the visitors took a decent lead of 5 points into the half-time. The score was 13-18 till the halfway stage.
Post break we came out with the spark of winning as we inflicted our second all-out. Vishal (7 points) stunned the Pirates with his 3 super tackles. He brought down Pardeep Narwal twice and Monu Goyat once to instil a kind of fear in their camp. Even Satpal Narwal (4 points), continued from he left in the previous game as he was a big threat for the opponent raiders. Our defenders made the Pirates sweat on the mat as they applied brakes on their scoring. It was a crunch situation for both the sides but in the end, we fell short by 2 points as Patna won the match by 34-36.
Talking about milestones, Rohit Baliyan, notched up 100 Raid points in PKL. Mercurial Meraj picked up his 200th career Raid points. Abolfazl bagged his 50th Touch point of this season. As a team, we achieved 1200 PKL Raid points in PKL history.
Our next home leg battle is against U.P Yoddha, who are presently sitting at the 3rd spot of the Zone B points table. They have a star-studded line-up with players like Nitin Tomar, Rajesh Narwal and Jeeva Kumar. With the aim of victory, we will look to march our way in the second last home game. We have worked hard on our flaws and now we are ready to pluck a win under our belt. We are expecting a full house once again as Dabang fans have stood like a pillar with us.
